GIFTS: Dolmetsch sold to Niclas

SWITZERLAND. Swiss kiosk and convenience store firm Valora Holding said today it had sold its Dolmetsch subsidiary to the duty free and travel retail distributor Niclas, as part of its strategy to focus on expanding its core retail business which is mainly in Swiss rail stations.

Dolmetsch, which has 11 retail outlets in Zurich, Berne, Basel, Lucerne and Baden specialises in making knives and specialty gifts such as the Porsche Design pocket knife, Victorinox and sports accessories. The sale was made with effect from 1 January 2004.

Valora also sold its book and magazine distribution company Buch Service Vollert (BSV) to Buch-Vertrieb (BVG). The firms agreed not to disclose financial details.
