Family friendly: The Giraffe restaurant concept specialises in ethical eating to the sound of world music |
UK. Family restaurant group Giraffe is set to open four franchise outlets at UK airports with The Restaurant Group (TRG) within the next 10 months – including the biggest restaurant in London Heathrow Terminal 5. The T5 outlet will have 260 covers and over 6,000sq ft of space.
The F&B brand will also begin trading at Manchester Airport in October.
In addition, Giraffe will introduce a new concept into both London Stansted Airport and T5 called the “FRESH JUICE & COFFEE BAR”. This concept offers freshly made sandwiches, wraps, pastries, hand-roasted coffee and made-to-order juices and smoothies, all served in a diner-style design.
Catherine Peachey, BAA’s Head of Category for Food and Beverage said: “We are delighted to announce Giraffe will be opening their largest franchise restaurant in Terminal 5 next year. By offering a bespoke menu within a unique store design, Giraffe will provide passengers travelling through Heathrow’s new terminal with a memorable dining experience.”
Giraffe’s philosophy is to provide a relaxed dining experience with a focus on healthy and ethical eating for families.
The restaurant menu offers an extensive food choice from around the world including wholesome brunches, fresh fish dishes, mezze finger food, classic global burgers, wok-fried noodle dishes, cheesecake, hand roasted coffee, speciality organic teas, cocktails and freshly squeezed juices and smoothies supplemented by weekly blackboard specials, all served to the sound of global music from the Putumayo record label.
Giraffe already operates a franchise restaurant at Heathrow Terminal 1 with TRG.
