SPAIN. Global Exchange has opened five currency exchange outlets at Madrid Barajas Airport, after winning a tender for the concession last year.
The Spain-based multinational company said it has become one of the top three foreign exchange services companies in the world, having begun operations 15 years ago.
Four units are located in Terminal 1, including in International Arrivals (two outlets) and International Departures (Schengen and non-Schengen), with a further outlet in T2 Departures.
The company was founded in Fuentes de Oñoro (Salamanca, Spain) in 1996, through the Alanis family. Today Global Exchange has more than 100 exchange offices in three continents, 12 countries and 33 airports, serving more than 3 million customers. The company has 750 employees worldwide. The company operates in the following countries: Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Uruguay, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Trinidad & Tobago and Morocco.
