Global Exchange wins Tijuana airport currency exchange contract

Global Exchange is now present at five Mexican airports

MEXICO. The Global Exchange Group’s Mexican subsidiary Globo Cambio has won the concession to operate foreign currency exchange services at General Abelardo Rodríguez International Airport in Tijuana. The company began operating at the airport through two bureaux on 23 March.

The Spanish company is now present at five international airports in Mexico. Its global operations span 14 countries, including a strong presence in Latin America and the Caribbean through contracts in Argentina, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, St Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay.

Global Exchange President and CEO Isidoro Alanís said: “Opening at Tijuana is a significant landmark for our Mexican subsidiary and the whole group. The new Tijuana’s International Airport is one of the busiest in the country and occupies a strategic location on the Mexican border with the United States. Last year we pledged our commitment to our Mexican business by upgrading our subsidiary to the upper category of Casa de Cambio. This involved a strong economic commitment, and this contract represents our first step in this new stage in our growth strategy within the country.”

Global Exhange operates 100 bureaux mainly located at international airports. Beyond Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean it also has business in Israel and Morocco.
