Delighted: Melvin Broekaart |
Commenting on the new space, Global Lifestyle Managing Director Melvin Broekaart said: “This is a great location for the Iittala brand and we are very proud to be working with Emerald Marketing. We are delighted with the space they have created and to offer a wide assortment of products to a consumer group that is a key target audience for Iittala. The visiting nationalities, including those from Japan and Korea, are very keen on Scandinavian design and lifestyle items.”
Commenting on the display in the new store, which opened in August, Bon Voyage Duty Free General Manager Mitsuru Okamoto said: “Iittala is becoming increasingly popular with young families in this region. People are very attracted to Northern European design. We wanted to create great impact in our store and therefore dedicated a large area to Iittala, including a window display. Before introducing the brand we did not have any lifestyle home products, and this new listing has made us the first boutique offering such design items in Guam.”
Due to the success of this launch, there are plans for Global Lifestyle to introduce other brands to the category at Bon Voyage Duty Free.
Noting the importance of this emerging category, Okamoto added: “This is a new and important category for duty free. Home and lifestyle products are very popular with consumers and for sure make an attractive offer in-store. I think we have a great opportunity to show people these new lifestyle products and it should be presented in a fashionable and creative way. I believe Global Lifestyle is successfully establishing a new and exciting category for duty free.”
