Revenue growth at the Extime Paris joint ventures performed ahead of passenger traffic increases in the first nine months

FRANCE. Groupe ADP today reported on its nine-month revenue performance, with the figure rising +11.7% year-on-year to €4.6 billion.

Retail and Services revenue at the major Paris airports climbed by +10.6% to €1.4 billion, outpacing passenger traffic growth of +3.8% to 78.4 million. Group traffic increased by +8.1% to 275.1 million in the period.

Spend per passenger from the Extime Paris joint ventures across retail and dining reached €31.40 in the nine months, up by +5.6%.

Revenue from retail activities includes airside and landside shops, bars and restaurants, banking and foreign exchange activities, and car rental companies, as well as advertising.

Retail alone (mainly including retail, F&B and advertising) posted growth of +10.4% to €924 million. Within this, Extime Duty Free Paris revenue rose by +8.5% and Extime Travel Essentials was up +58% (partly due to a new accounting method) – both are JVs with Lagardère Travel Retail.

Revenue from Other Shops and Bars and restaurants was down -22.6% due to a change in consolidation method for Extime Food & Beverage Paris, a JV with SSP.

Revenue from advertising grew +47.4% driven by particularly high demand in the run-up to and during the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and by the increase in traffic.

Revenue from car parks was up +3.8% year-on-year.

In October, Groupe ADP closed two acquisitions in the Retail and Services segment, namely Paris Experience Group, a creator of tourist experiences in Ile-de-France, and P/S, an operator of services at airport terminals in the USA.

P/S offers passengers high-end, tailor-made services such as private lounges, F&B, spa, valet, check-in and baggage reclaim, plus personalised experiences, including transportation to the aircraft by airside car, security checks and border crossings on site.

Groupe ADP said: “This acquisition is in line with the Groupe ADP international development ambitions, and with the Extime strategy, the Groupe ADP airport hospitality and retail brand, notably with its Extime Exclusive range.”

ADP added: “These acquisitions, for a combined amount of €360 million, will enable Extime to extend its offering beyond the Parisian airports and boost its growth prospects in Paris and abroad.” ✈
