CHINA. Guerlain celebrated the launch of the new 4th Generation Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil Serum on 18 May with a grand event at cdf Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex, Block C in Haitang Bay, Hainan province.
Guerlain Skincare Ambassador Yu Shi made a special appearance, joining VIPs on a journey inspired by the bee – Guerlain’s historic emblem of beauty, renewal and transformation.

From Bee to Beauty — A journey of renewal and radiance
The 4th Generation Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil Serum is powered by three rare black bee honeys. Guerlain said the serum is the result of 15 years’ research, nine patents and deep scientific expertise – all captured in a single bottle to deliver deep repair from the first drops.
Sourced from the pristine regions of Ouessant Island in Brittany, France; Connemara, Ireland; and Trofors, Norway, the repairing concentrate of black bee honeys is blended with exclusive royal jelly to form a 99% naturally derived, microbead-infused texture that melts seamlessly into the skin.
The formula penetrates deep into the epidermis, reactivating the skin’s self-repair mechanisms to restore firmness, boost radiance and visibly reduce wrinkles.
Yu Shi delighted the crowd by making a surprise appearance to rapturous applause. He revealed the secret behind the new 4th Generation Abeille Royale Youth Watery Oil Serum:
After 1 Drop: Deep repair begins, fortifying the skin barrier and helping it resist everyday stress.
After 1 Hour: Skin appears visibly plumped with youthful vitality.
Yu Shi joined Guerlain APAC Travel Retail Sales Director Caroline Limbourg and China Duty Free Group (CDFG) Sanya Deputy General Manager Zhang Bin for a commemorative photo.
Following the launch, Yu Shi embarked on a multi-sensory journey through science, luxury, and nature at the Abeille Royale Pop-Up – described by Guerlain as the first of its kind in China travel retail.

Designed around an open and transparent layout, the space blends sleek architectural lines with refined elegance, guiding visitors through a five-zone immersive experience that brings the Abeille Royale story to life.
When asked about his go-to after late-night shoots, Yu Shi shared, “After long nights of filming, I always apply a couple of extra drops. By the next morning, my skin looks fresh and glowing, and makeup glides on effortlessly.”
Open from 1 to 29 May, the Abeille Royale pop-up invites travellers to discover Guerlain’s bee-powered science through a multi-sensory journey rooted in nature, luxury, and innovation.
Looking ahead, Guerlain said it will continue to pursue beauty through innovation and excellence. In partnership with Skincare Ambassador Yu Shi, the brand remains committed to offering extraordinary skincare experiences worldwide – honouring the legacy of the bee and advancing the art of renewal, drop by drop.
