FRANCE. Guerlain has unveiled its major make-up initiative for the second half – a new lipstick line called KissKiss.
The lipsticks will be available exclusively from the company’s Parisian boutiques from 15 August, before being rolled out in France and internationally from September.
The lipstick case is designed to resemble an ultra-modern jewel/accessory, according to the company.
Created by Hervé Van Der Straeten, the packaging is a smooth, sculpted gold column, adorned with the signature Guerlain “˜G’.
“I designed”¦a timelessly elegant object that you cannot resist touching, such is its soft and tactile nature,” Van Der Straeten commented. “I designed this lipstick as a jewel, made of gilded metal.
“Each surface is carefully hand-crafted and -polished, rendering it uneven and creating irregularities that breathe life in the object and lend it movement beyond description.”
The outer carton has a colourful, hologram effect.
The KissKiss formula features vitamin E and a CreamSoft Complex, combined with oils chosen for their softness and hydrating properties. It is scented with a violet and red fruit accord.
KissKiss provides six hours of moisture and five hours of long-lasting colour, according to Guerlain.
The texture is described as melting, voluptuous and mouth-watering.
KissKiss is available in 30 shades and will retail domestically at about €23.
