Guylian has announced that its popular Sea Shell shape, the Sea Horse, will be available in a new vanilla flavour in 2013. The Belgian chocolatier is to present the product – along with a raft of new items and display initiatives – at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas in Orlando next week (Booth number: 1309).
The new Sea Horse chocolates will be made from milk or white Belgian chocolate and filled with a smooth vanilla flavour, white chocolate cream. The product is said to offer a subtle flavour of Madagascan vanilla.
With this product, Guylian hopes to attract new consumers who prefer the more subtle taste of vanilla to the traditional hazelnut praliné filling. The new Sea Horses will not be marbled but will instead be available in a choice of either a plain milk chocolate shell, the most popular flavour throughout the world, and plain white chocolate, which is the new trend in the chocolate market for 2013, according to the company.
The Vanilla Sea Horse will be available from August 2013 in a 152g square box filled with 16 Sea Horses: eight milk and eight white chocolates.

About Guylian
Guylian, the market leader in boxed chocolates in Belgium, was founded in 1960. With a team of 250 employees, the firm produces a wide range of Belgian chocolates in a state-of-the-art factory in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, while still respecting its traditional chocolate-making heritage. A blend of West African cocoa beans forms the basis of its premium Belgian chocolate, made with 100% cocoa butter.
The Belgian Chocolate Sea Shells are Guylian’s star product. The hazelnut praliné filling is produced in the age-old traditional manner, a heritage of the company’s founding father. The secret method of roasting and caramelising hazelnuts is said to give Guylian chocolates their taste.
Guylian exports to more than 100 countries across Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Americas. Guylian Belgian Chocolate Sea Shells are the number one Belgian boxed chocolate brand distributed in travel retail shops.
Guylian is committed to the marine conservation project, Project Seahorse, which is dedicated to preserving sea horses and other marine life across the world. Guylian provides long-term support for this work and has been a major partner since 1999. Visit www.projectseahorse.org
