H Stern wins Ben Gurion 2000 jewellery tender

ISRAEL. H Stern announced today that it had won the Israel Airports Authority tender to operate the duty free jewellery, gems and diamonds stores at Ben Gurion Airport terminal three.

T3 is the new US$21 million heart of Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion 2000 project.

H Stern has operated the jewellery franchise at Ben Gurion Airport for 41 years, according to the Israel Business Arena.

The new contract runs for seven years. The jewellery concession will consist of three selling points: a 115sq m shop and a 45sq m counter in the duty free area airside, along with a 75sq m store in the landside building.

H Stern, headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will operate several stores in the terminal with a total area of 300sq m. The company said it plans to invest US$1.5 million to set up the stores and US$10 million in inventory.

H Stern enjoys a powerful presence in Israel, running 36 stores. Its international business also includes stores at airports in New York, Frankfurt, Lisbon, and Rio de Janeiro.
