Habanos extends Quai D’Orsay offer with travel retail-exclusive humidor

Leading premium cigar manufacturer Habanos last month introduced a new travel humidor from its Quai D’Orsay Imperiales brand. The new line is a travel retail exclusive and was launched at a gala dinner during TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.  Each elegantly designed humidor houses 20 cigars and is produced in limited quantities.

Habanos Vice President of Development José María López Inchaurbe said:With this launch, we are bringing back one of the historical icons of this brand, which was relaunched by Habanos in 2017 with a renewed portfolio and a more premium positioning and image. We are sure that the recovery and success of important channels such as duty free and travel retail are guaranteed with launches like the one we have the pleasure of presenting today.”

The Quai D’Orsay Imperiales range is medium strength and features thick ring gauges (47 ring gauge x 178mm length).

During TFWA World Habanos also displayed the latest releases designed for the channel. There were new Trinidad Robustos, Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchills as well as from Quai D’Orsay Imperiales.

More recently Habanos has paid tribute to its partnership with ST Dupont by launching a new accessories collection (below).

Montecristo L’Esprit Le Crépuscule, Montecristo L’Esprit La Nuit and Montecristo L’Esprit L’Aurore were created to mark the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Maison S.T. Dupont by Simon Tissot Dupont. 2022 also marks the 220th anniversary of the birth of Alexandre Dumas, the author who gave life to the character ‘The Count of Montecristo’ and who inspired the famous Montecristo Habanos brand.

The year 1935 also links both brands. Montecristo was established as a brand in that year while in Faverges, the prestigious Chinese lacquer became one of the most important artistic elements used by S.T. Dupont.

*In other Habanos news, the company has announced that the 23rd edition of the Habano Festival will be held in Havana from 27 February to 3 March. It follows two years of absence due to the pandemic.

The company said that “specialists, distributors and aficionados will once again experience first-hand all those initiatives that have made this annual event famous and that are much appreciated among Festival attendees: visits to renowned Habanos factories, plantations, seminars with interesting lectures and contests”. They will also preview the latest Habanos novelties to be launched next year.
