Cuban cigar group Habanos has partnered with leading distributor Phoenicia TAA Cyprus to launch the Cohiba 55 Anniversary Limited Edition.
As reported, the special Cohiba marks 55 years of the Habanos flagship brand. Its launch event in Cyprus this month featured physical and virtual elements across the Phoenicia Group’s distribution network in the Middle East and parts of Europe and Africa.
Over 2,000 Habanos enthusiasts registered on the www.cohiba55.com platform to take part in the launch.
Habanos Operational Marketing Director Ernesto González said: “It is a pleasure to be here to celebrate the anniversary of the most prestigious brand in the premium cigars world.
“During these 55 years, we have developed under the Cohiba brand a portfolio that is meticulous in every detail, designed for the most demanding aficionados. In addition, Cohiba has led the innovation and development of special products that are introduced to the market with a very limited and exclusive character.”
Pheonicia Cyprus TAA CEO Walid Saleh presented the Cohiba 55 ‘Premier Edition’, the first batch of cigars, in numbered cases (one to 10,000) of five pieces. With a Premier ring, the cigars are available exclusively within the distributor’s territory.

The Cohiba 55 Anniversary Limited Edition 2021 is rolled with fine leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region and finished with the classic characteristic of the Cohiba line, the pigtail. Presented in boxes of ten cigars, the line with a 150 mm x 57 ring gauge features “exceptionally selected tobacco” and additional aging.
