QATAR. Hamad International Airport served 13.7 million passengers in the third quarter of 2024, recording a robust +7.9% growth year-on-year. The result included a record-breaking July, which saw 4,742,068 passengers pass through the Doha gateway.
The equivalent numbers for August and September were 4,717,885 and 4,246,742 respectively.
Point-to-point traffic experienced +11.1% year-on-year growth across Q3, contributing strongly to the airport’s overall performance.
Key passenger growth countries for the Middle East in the quarter were Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain while in Europe the growth was led by Spain, the UK and Germany. Notably, the China market grew by over +43% in Q3 compared to the previous year.
The number of aircraft movements in the quarter reached 71,425, +6.2% more than the previous year’s corresponding period.
The airport company said this strong performance highlights Hamad International Airport’s growing role as a major global aviation hub. ✈
