Heathrow Airport confirms Terminal 2 retail and food & beverage line-up

The new terminal will be home to a host of British and international brands

UK. London Heathrow Airport today confirmed the final list of retail and food & beverage brands that will take their place in the new Terminal 2, which opens in June.

There will be a strong emphasis on British brands in both F&B and retail, as well as a focus on more premium F&B, across the 64 shops and restaurants.

Among the F&B outlets confirmed are London’s Pride by Fullers, Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant and a new outlet created by four local female chefs: The Gorgeous Kitchen.

Heathrow Retail Director Max Vialou-Clark (who replaced Muriel Zingraff-Shariff in January) said: “Terminal 2’s opening will introduce Heathrow passengers to a whole new experience when they fly with us. From a restaurant created by Michelin-starred Heston Blumenthal to everyone’s favourite, John Lewis, my team has really pushed the boundaries of what is expected from an airport.”

Heathrow’s concessions deliver annual net sales of over £1.8 billion and sales per square metre of £30,052, the airport noted. It said that “every pound generated through the airport’s retail goes to reducing airport costs to airlines and in turn the ticket prices for passengers”. Heathrow announced full-year results this week. Click here for full details.

The competitive two-year tender process for T2 resulted in more than five proposals for each position, surpassing the number of bids received for Terminal 5 opening, Heathrow Airport noted.

The terminal will eventually serve 15.8 million passengers a year and be home to Star Alliance airlines, Aer Lingus, Virgin Atlantic Little Red and germanwings carriers.
