AUSTRIA. A shopping mission combined with a secret mission. That’s the theme of Austrian B2B promotions agency Brand Embassy’s* latest video to promote key travel retail clients.
The ‘Secret Mission production is a follow-up to the Austrian company’s acclaimed Christmas video that showed Brand Embassy ‘secret agents’ working with Heinemann Duty Free at Vienna Airport to ensure that children’s presents, stuck in customs, were delivered in time for Christmas. That video featured The Moodie Davitt Report.com as the mobile platform the agents used to communicate their mission and its outcome.

The new film tells how Brand Embassy’s secret agents are able to detect and contain ‘serious brand damage‘ by a double agent who has infiltrated the company’s 007 party. Once again Heinemann Duty Free comes to the rescue, replacing Schlumberger sparkling wine bottles with damaged labels while Cashback World supports a daring helicopter rescue.
The four-minute video features Coty‘s Marc Jacobs Decadence fragrance, Montblanc, Giorgio Armani cosmetics, Vienna Airport’s VIP Terminal, Schlumberger, Daniel Wellington and Heinemann Duty Free.
Brand Embassy Owner and Managing Director Fjolla Holzleithner told The Moodie Davitt Report, “For our partners and clients, in addition to regular airport promotions, this represented a new creative way to promote products and brands with our Brand Ambassadors.
“We decided to book our own Brand Ambassadors as actors in order to give them a ‘new room’ to live their brand passion. We continuously think about new ways of staff motivation.”
The company decided to shoot the video devoid of any agency fee. Pure production costs were split between the partners featured in the film, making costs accessible. “We still got ‘paid’ a lot, simply in terms of the energy, great fun, happiness and creativity involved during this project,” said Ms Holzleithner.
Two of the actors are also social media influencers. This meant strong social media engagement during production through Instagram. The video has also gained considerable social media traction through sharing of the completed film.
Jeta Bejtullahu of UK creative agency Jeta B, which was closely involved in the project, told The Moodie Davitt Report, “It’s a multi-brand storytelling campaign featuring clients of Brand Embassy. The idea was to do brand placement but within a double agent story. Also to match actual brand campaigns – i.e. for the Marc Jacobs perfume we have the girl enjoying the perfume just like [Brazilian model and actress] Adriana Lima in the brand’s ad. The lipstick also matches the #expressyourred Armani campaign.
“We cast Brand Embassy staff influencers – bar the Bond men as we needed particular characters, especially the bad Bond!”
