QATAR. Luxury house Hermès is the latest big name to open its doors in Hamad International Airport with Qatar Duty Free. The two-storey standalone boutique officially opened on 27 October in the South Plaza.
The Moodie Davitt Report Brands Editor & Digital Marketing Manager Hannah Tan-Gillies was on location in Doha to capture images of the newly-opened duplex store.
The striking boutique is located alongside the renowned Lamp Bear feature within the South Plaza and adjacent to fellow French luxury star Louis Vuitton. It offers the house’s fashion, accessories, shoes and fragrance lines for both men and women. Notably, the store offers the brand’s colourful line of silk scarves and selected homeware pieces including blankets, throw pillows, picture frames and ceramics.
The exterior is decorated in a tiled mosaic pattern, while the interior features the brand’s timeless colour palette and motifs.
As reported, the opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Qatar Duty Free Vice President Operations Thabet Musleh; Hamad International Airport Chief Operating Officer Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer; Hermès Managing Director Travel Ségolène Audras-Verdillon and other key executives from Hermès, Hamad International Airport and Qatar Duty Free.

Qatar Duty Free has been building towards this year’s FIFA World Cup – which kicks off in Doha on 20 November – with a flurry of store and food & beverage openings in the existing South and North Plazas and the opening of the magnificent new Expansion on 10 November.
The expansion features more than 90 brands in one vast shopping area, a world-class art collection, a refreshing environment with lush greenery, and a 10,000sq m indoor tropical garden called The Orchard with a 268-sqm water feature.
