NETHERLANDS. Dutch distributor Sea & Sky Supply is targeting retailers in popular Asian diving locations with its hi-tech sports watch brand Suunto.
The brand is already performing very well in the NAAFI military market, Sea & Sky Supply’s Gerrit van Til told The Moodie Report during the TFWA Asia Pacific show last month. The company was exhibiting the watch range, which includes diving, golfing and fitness/heart rate monitor models.
“Suunto sports watches are hi-tech but easy to use,” he said. “They have already got listings onboard Starboard Cruises in the Baltic, as well as at airports in Amsterdam Schiphol (with Belgian Sky Shops), Germany, Milan and Rome (with ADR). The Suunto Golf G3 watch is very popular.”
Van Til said the company was using the Singapore show to meet Asian retailers with stores in important diving spots, such as the Maldives, Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia. He reckoned Suunto’s diving watch range would be very popular in these areas.
The Suunto watch brand is owned by Amer Sports, which recently bought the famous Salomon ski equipment specialist.
