Highland Park’s Freya, the latest expression in the Valhalla Collection |
Highland Park has introduced the third single malt in its Valhalla Collection with Freya, celebrating the Norse goddess of love. There will eventually be four single malts in the collection.
The 15 year old whisky is bottled at 51.2% abv and is presented in the same wooden frame box used for previous variants Thor and Loki.
According to the Edrington Group-owned Orkney distillery, Freya reflects the character traits of the goddess herself, inspired by her “depth and intriguing allure” to give drinkers a “fresh, golden and seductive” whisky.
“Famed for her great beauty and often known as The Fair One, Freya is the patron and protector of the human race to whom souls travel to be renewed,” it said.
Freya is available from specialist independent whisky retailers and at the Highland Park distillery at a recommended retail price of £140 (US$229).
