HMSHost brings Mediterranean flavour to O’Hare – 25/05/07

‘La Tapenade’ is described by developer HMSHost as a progressive, new, casual restaurant concept

USA. La Tapenade Mediterranean Café, developed exclusively by HMSHost for Chicago O’Hare International Airport, opened this week in Terminal One.

Described by HMSHost as a progressive, new, casual restaurant concept, La Tapenade is a multi-faceted food & beverage outlet. It functions as an all-day café, serving morning pastries and coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner sandwiches, flatbread pizzas, entrée salads, snacks and desserts.

Seasonal produce and high-end speciality ingredients are what differentiate this concept from other cafés, according to the group.

“We are pleased to bring O’Hare travellers a new and unique dining experience at our airport,” said City of Chicago Commissioner of Aviation Nuria Fernandez. “This exciting concept taps into our local love for the international cuisine that is served in Chicago’s many diverse neighbourhood restaurants.”

Situated after security at Gate 5 in T1, Concourse B, La Tapenade is anchored on three sides by curved glass display cases showcasing a variety of international gourmet foods. Pre-packaged, portable menu items are available for travellers on the go, and beer and wines from around the world are served at the full bar.
