The original Nate ‘n Al downtown location is in Beverly Hills and has a heritage spanning more than 66 years. The restaurant is considered a landmark in Los Angeles. The concessionaire said that Nate “˜n Al epitomises comfort food. The LAX Nate ‘n Al walls feature 66 years of memorabilia, history and Los Angeles stories.
“We are honoured to have the opportunity for the LAX traveller to experience our iconic sandwiches, specialities, and only the best of what Nate “˜n Al”˜s of Beverly Hills has to offer,” said Nate “˜n Al”˜s third generation co-owner Mark Mendelson. “My brother David and I are excited to carry on our grandparents”˜ legacy of service with the best deli has to offer and giving the best service to the LAX traveller.”
A traditional breakfast at Nate “˜n Al includes Corned Beef and Egg Scramble or a Smoked Salmon Bagel Sandwich. The lunch menu offers Al”˜s Chopped Salad (named in honour of founder Al Mendelson) or a Roast Turkey Sandwich with Nate “˜n Al”˜s famous Russian dressing. Travellers can also opt for a 1/3 lb. Certified Angus Beef Burger, complemented by the classic deli dessert of New York Cheesecake. The beverage offer includes cocktails, beer and wine.
“Nate “˜n Al is one of the signature restaurants that is a must on everyone”˜s list of Los Angeles dining,” said HMSHost Senior Vice President of Business Development Steve Johnson. “It is a pleasure to bring one of the cultural icons of L.A. food to the airport. We know that Nate “˜n Al and the terrific new L.A. restaurants we are bringing to LAX in 2012 will definitely make the traveller”˜s day better.”
In addition to Nate “˜n Al, several new locally-inspired restaurants will open next year in Terminal 4 as part of HMSHost”˜s recent contract win earlier this year. New stores will include Mediterranean concept Campanile’s; Cole’s; 8 Oz. Burger Bar; La Provence Patisserie & Café; vegan offerings from Real Food Daily; and L.A. Gourmet Street Truck.
