HMSHost partnered with S&C Robinson Enterprise, the Savannah Airport Commission and Southbound for the opening. An event featuring a ribbon cutting, a ceremonial cask tapping of Hop’lin IPA with fresh pineapple, and a live musical performance marked the occasion.

“HMSHost and had a goal to open a new, exciting, local option in Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport and Southbound Taphouse does exactly that,” said HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Kent Vanden Oever. “The Southbound Brewing Company brand represents Savannah’s thriving social culture.”

Southbound Brewing Company launched in May 2013 in Savannah. HMSHost previously partnered with the brewery in 2015 to offer Southbound’s brews at restaurants in the airport.

The new restaurant offers American cuisine featuring dishes such as waffle fries, chili con carne, a black & bleu stack burger, and an ancho grilled chicken breast entrée.

Signature Southbound brews on tap include Scattered Sun Belgian Wit, Shakedown Street Saison, Hop’Lin IPA, and a rotating seasonal selection.

Southbound Taphouse also features pool tables, an event board so that travellers can see the brewery’s schedule, a hand-painted mural, and artwork to tell the company’s story.
