SWEDEN. HMSHost Europe, a division of Autogrill, has opened its newest location at Stockholm Arlanda Airport in partnership with popular Swedish hamburger chain Max.
HMSHost currently operates eight other food and beverage locations at the airport.
“We are very pleased to welcome Max to our portfolio of brands and to open the first Max location at Stockholm Arlanda Airport,” said HMSHost Europe Managing Director Walter Seib. “The addition of this quality burger brand is new to the airport and will be a fine addition to our offering of food & beverage concepts at Arlanda. We expect this local concept to be very successful.”
Max, a family-owned company, is reportedly the only Swedish hamburger brand that guarantees to serve only Swedish beef and chicken.
Located in Terminal Four, the operation is accessible to travellers, airport staff and non-passengers. The restaurant has 90 seats and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu includes the chain’s famous hamburgers and chicken. It will be open daily from 5am to 11pm on weekdays, with different operating hours on the weekend.
“We see the cooperation with HMSHost as a solid first step when we expand our company internationally,” said Max Hamburger Restaurants President Richard Bergfors. “They are an ideal first partner and will work as a great test bed as we plan for new locations and countries.”

“Arlanda offers its passengers a broad selection of food & beverage concepts, varying from typical Swedish to international concepts. The addition of Max, as a local new flavour, to the offering in our domestic T4 will be an excellent fit,” commented Arlanda Schiphol Development Company Managing Director Anne-Marie Zuidweg, who is responsible for concessions management in the terminals at Arlanda Airport.
“We have high expectations of its contribution both in terms of passenger satisfaction and commercial revenues,” she added.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport serves more than 16 million passengers annually and more than 170 destinations. More than 60 airlines have operations at the airport.
