TURKEY. Travel food specialist HMSHost International has won a tender for seven new F&B outlets at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport. They are located variously in the new domestic departures hall (seven units), landside (one) and in three locations serving staff.
They complement 16 locations that HMSHost has managed since 2012. All 27 locations will be fully operational by mid-2019. The new contract runs for seven years and will generate an estimated turnover of €146 million (including incremental sales of €105 million from new locations).

In the newly built domestic boarding hall, strong international brands such as KFC and Starbucks are located centrally and function “as a crowd-pleaser”, said HMSHost. Qfta and the 40 Degrees Bar & Brewery should appeal to the needs of local customers, it added. In addition, HMSHost concepts such as Puro Gusto, Kiosco and Kiosk provide “tailored and personal menus” in smaller footprint locations. The new landside restaurant will be Happy Moons, a well-known Istanbul dining concept.
HMSHost International CEO Walter Seib said: “We are proud of the cooperation, the trust and the performance of our partnership and are looking forward to an even longer and more successful cooperation for many years to come. Together we make our guests feel good on the move.”
Ersel Göral, CEO of Sabiha Gökçen Airport terminal operator ISG, said: “HMSHost is an important business partner. This cooperation will become even more meaningful, along with the commercial areas in the newly opened domestic boarding hall.”
