Said to be a Nashville favourite, Baja Burrito adds a dash of local flavour to the dining selection at Nashville Airport |
US. HMSHost Corporation and Nashville company Transfare, Inc. have opened four new restaurants at Nashville International Airport as phase one of a three-part concession development programme.
A mixture of local and national brands, the restaurants – Baja Burrito, Famous Famiglia Pizzeria, Quiznos Subs and Burger King – are located in the new C Concourse Food Court which serves Southwest and American Airlines.
The 11-year contract to develop new food & beverage venues, awarded to HMSHost Corp by the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority in August 2006, marks HMSHost’s first Nashville operation.
Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority President and CEO Raul Regalado said he was confident of a positive reception by Nashville travellers to the new restaurants.
“With the opening of the new C Concourse Food Court Nashville passengers now have the exceptional restaurant brands they recognise and appreciate, courtesy of HMSHost,” he said. “Early indications are that Nashville travellers are very pleased with these new options.”
And these options are set to increase with the completion of phase two in January 2008 and phase three in January 2009. Construction of phase two is set to begin in October 2007 and phase three in November 2008.
Two new outlets from Starbucks Coffee will be included, along with restaurants such as Noshville Delicatessen, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Tavern, Neely’s Barbeque, Gibson’s Guitar Café and Provence Breads & Café.
HMSHost Senior Vice President of Business Development Pat Banducci said: “Nashville is in a dynamic and growing region, and its airport is offering the local and national brands that its travellers know and desire.”
“This is only the beginning – we have much more on the way for Nashville travellers to enjoy.”
HMSHost operates in more than 100 airport locations around the globe, including 19 of the 20 busiest airports in North America. The company has annual sales in excess of US$2.3 billion and employs more than 28,000 associates worldwide.
