HMSHost unveils Bread! and Starbucks Coffee at Schiphol Airport

NETHERLANDS. HMSHost has opened two new food & beverage outlets in Amsterdam Airport Schiphol Lounge 3: the sandwich concept Bread! and Schiphol’s fifth Starbucks Coffee.

The entire lounge is being remodelled to create an environment in which passengers will feel relaxed in a setting that allows them to work and play, the airport said.

Bread! is a central feature of Lounge 3. Sandwiches are made to order in front of the guests, and according to their tastes. Travellers in a hurry can choose to take the “˜fast lane’ and make a choice from a pre-made selection.

Bakery supplier Carl Siegert and culinary illustrator Janneke Hoeben were closely consulted as the menu and store image passed through the concept phase.

HMSHost said: “Key elements in the image of Bread! are purity and honesty, and this is reflected in the range of products, uniforms and décor that makes use of robust and natural materials, along with the slogan “˜Bake my Day’.”

Starbucks Coffee is also new to Lounge 3. In 2007 HMSHost opened the first Starbucks Coffee in the Netherlands on Schiphol World Avenue in Lounge 1. The new opening coincides with Starbucks’ celebration of its 40th anniversary.

All Starbucks stores at Schiphol and across the globe will serve the Tribute Blend coffee as well as merchandise featuring the company’s new logo.

“HMSHost is delighted to bring a strong line-up of hospitality and great food to Schiphol’s Lounge 3 and its nearly 5.3 million annual passengers,” said HMSHost Europe and Middle East Vice President Dawn Wilding. “Our goal is to help make the traveller’s day better and with Bread! and one of the top coffees in the world, we know we’re able to accomplish that goal.”

The popular juice and smoothie offering JuicyDetails also opened in Lounge 3. Additional retail and services for travellers are still under development for the lounge and HMSHost will open one more outlet before the summer season begins. The completion of the entire Lounge 3 is planned for this autumn.

HMSHost operates more than 70 F&B venues at Schiphol, including Dutch Kitchen & Bar, Café Chocolat, and Bubbles Seafood & Wine Bar.
