AUSTRALIA. Hobart Airport has struck seven-year contract agreements with SSP and Lagardère AWPL for dining and retail services respectively. It comes as passenger numbers continue to rise, and amid plans for a new runway and a terminal expansion. The Mercurius Group supported Hobart Airport with the selection process.
Hobart Airport CEO Norris Carter said the seven-year agreements will deliver an improved experience for airport visitors. “We’ve had long term relationships with both SSP and Lagardère AWPL, and we’re looking forward to being able to provide improved offerings for travellers.”

Carter said that working with SSP and Lagardère AWPL allows the airport to feature a mix of local brands and well-known international brands.
“SSP and Lagardère AWPL will continue to partner with local brands to bring the best of Tasmania to Hobart Airport, with plans over time to more than double the current food & beverage and retail offerings.
“These brands will sit alongside the existing offerings, adding quick service restaurants, a 100% Tasmanian offering, and cafés with local produce,” Carter said.
“The retail expansion will see more options for travellers including local produce and gifts, travel essentials, technology, beauty and duty free.”

Lagardère AWPL Co-CEO Costa Kouros said he was “looking forward to continuing our strong relationship with Hobart Airport for many years to come, delivering exciting retail experiences using the full breadth of our businesses’ unique expertise”.
SSP Asia Pacific CEO Jonathan Robinson said the company planned to develop a food & beverage offering that is distinctly Tasmanian, with an international feel.
