Hong Kong International Airport unveils The Gallery by Leica

HONG KONG. Airport Authority Hong Kong today announced the grand opening of “˜The Gallery’, organised by Leica Store Hong Kong, at Terminal 2 of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

Located on Level 5 at Terminal 2, The Gallery showcases a range of photographic works by renowned local photographers created using Leica cameras, or which has been awarded as part of any Leica cultural projects.

Opening from 1000hrs to 2000hrs daily with free admission, each exhibition will be presented for one to two months. The current exhibition by Jeff Kwan, a street photographer graduated from School of Visual of Arts in New York, features black-and-white photographs of Kwan’s life in New York, taken with a Leica M6. It will run in The Gallery till 31 December 2011.

In January, The Gallery will showcase the photos presented by students in the Leica workshop. In February, works done by Huang Jing, the winner of the Leica Oskar Barnack Newcomer Award 2011, will be exhibited.

In addition, the Leica Store on Level 7 of Terminal 1 presents a wide range of premium-class photographic equipment.
