US. Respected beauty executive Honor Sillwood, most recently of the Lancaster Group (now Coty Prestige), is now working on behalf of Juniper Brand Development.
The UK company develops and licenses fragrances. Its two key brands are Richard James – whose first men’s scent was introduced in 2003 – and Matthew Williamson, whose debut feminine fragrance was launched last year.
“Richard James is a bespoke Savile Row tailor,” explained Sillwood. “His first scent won the 2004 UK Fifi Award for Best New Fragrance in Limited Distribution for Men.”
The tailor added to his scent repertoire in February with the launch of another line, Richard James Cologne.
The first women’s fragrance from designer Matthew Williamson hit UK shelves last May; it is now carried in over 140 doors. “Williamson shows in London and New York,” commented Sillwood. “His designs are well-known all over the world, especially thanks to [actress/model] Sienna Miller, who is his muse.”
Sillwood continued: “My role is to expand the distribution of these lines in the Latin American local market, China and Japan, and as and when Americas travel retail.”
Beauty aside, Sillwood is also handling Don Diego Santa Tequila. Distilled from only Blue Agave Weber, the top-end tequila is well known in Mexico and exported to a number of European markets.
The brand is now looking to make its mark in Americas travel retail.
Sillwood is a vastly experienced beauty executive, having worked both the supplier and retailer sides of the business. Most recently, she was Vice President Americas Travel Retail & Export Latin America for the Lancaster Group (now Coty Prestige). Prior to joining Lancaster she was a buyer at the then Allders International. Before that Sillwood worked for 13 years at domestic retailer House of Fraser.
