CHINA. Hainan Tourism Duty Free Shopping Complex (HTDF) opened an immersive exhibition space as it took part in the 5th China International Consumer Products Expo (Hainan Expo).
As reported, China’s second-largest duty-free retailer, operated by Hainan Tourism Investment Duty Free Co., transformed the exhibition space (2C02 Hall 2) into a multisensory pavilion, merging smart technology, whisky culture, high-end fashion collections and premium beauty experiences.
One of the key highlights includes the Smart Technology zone, featuring augmented-reality eyewear innovations from TCL’s Rayneo, Meizu Flyme AR and LAWK One, alongside premium sunglasses from Celine, Dior, Gucci, Miumiu and Givenchy.
The spirits section invites guests to experience guided tastings of ten rare single malts, featuring Claxton’s, Kilchoman and Springbank – all showcased together for the first time in a Chinese duty-free setting. Expert sommeliers share insights on distilling techniques and the influence of regional terroir.
The exhibition also features the Hainan duty-free debut of Italian menswear brand Kiton.
In the beauty and skincare zone, visitors can enjoy immersive sensory experiences from leading global names such as Estée Lauder and Shiseido, with exclusive services ranging from limited-edition fragrance samplings to high-end facials by Cellcosmet.
A HTDF spokesperson said: “CICPE isn’t just an exhibition – it’s a strategic hub for China’s global openness. We’ll keep innovating in ‘duty-free+culture+technology’ to position Hainan as a world-class retail destination.” 🏝️
