GERMANY. German fashion company Hugo Boss hosted its annual Travel Retail Conference in Prague from 30 March to 2 April.
The company invited its most successful travel retail shop managers from around the world, this time counting 26 participants.
Highlight of the conference was the gala evening event with the Travel Retail Shop of the Year award ceremony. For 2005 the award went to the Boss shop at Hong Kong International Airport managed by Nuance Watson HK Ltd.
The guest of honour, Sandra Udzenija, Hugo Boss’s business partner on both the domestic and travel retail markets in the Czech Republic, presented the award to the delighted Hong Kong participant, Anders Chiu.
Other highly commended awards went to the Boss shops at Copenhagen Airport (Kaufmann), Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (Gerzon Schiphol), Frankfurt International Airport T1 Catwalk (Gebr Heinemann) and Gatwick Terminal South (The Nuance Group UK).
The three-day conference programme offered sessions and workshops in intercultural communication, sales, strategies, team motivation and other sales-related themes.
Hugo Boss invited an international expert in cross-cultural communication, to give the participants in-depth information about successful sales and customer service in the global marketplace. Further presentations were given about business performance during the past year and the latest travel retail developments.
The participants also received a detailed insight into the company’s recently founded shoes and accessories business by a speaker from Hugo Boss Shoes & Accessories. The seminar included the global strategy, the future development and the outlook for the travel retail market.
