USA. The 2023 Summit of the Americas, organised by the International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS), will be held on 18-21 April. The venue will be the same as this year, the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The 2023 Summit will feature an updated schedule, with the Welcome Reception on Tuesday 18 April, and the exhibition booths and private rooms open from Wednesday through Friday, 19-21 April. IAADFS also plans a return to a traditional exhibition hall format from 2023.
“We were pleased with the results of the 2022 Summit,” said IAADFS Board Chairman Rene Riedi. “We have received good feedback about the 2022 event, both in-person and through surveys conducted with attendees and exhibitors, and we’re looking forward to building on this success for 2023.”
IAADFS said it scaled back the size of the April 2022 event to account for the continuing impact of COVID-19 on the industry, with around 800 delegates attending.
“Although 2022 attendance was obviously less than pre-pandemic levels, attendees and exhibitors alike commented favourably about the event – about the quality of attendees, the quality of exhibitors, and how prepared buyer attendees were to conduct business,” commented IAADFS President and CEO Michael Payne.
He added: “While we went with a different format for 2022 for exhibits, survey feedback shows that attendees and exhibitors are looking forward to a return to a more conventional exhibit hall layout for 2023, so we’ll be working on that plan for next year.”
The space request process for the 2023 Summit is anticipated to begin in August or September 2022, with registration and housing to open soon thereafter. Although the 2023 Summit may return to a more conventional format for exhibitors, IAADFS said it intends to continue providing educational content through conference sessions alongside multiple opportunities for networking.
