Ian Macleod Distillers launches Wincarnis 1887 liqueur with DFS

Ian Macleod Distillers has unveiled its new liqueur, Wincarnis 1887, launching it exclusively through DFS in Singapore as the brand seeks to target a younger audience.

The liqueur is based on a modern interpretation of the classic Victorian recipe for Wincarnis Tonic Wine, first formulated in 1887 in Norwich, England.

Sharing many of the same ingredients as the original drink, it has been created specifically for today’s palate, while its packaging combines contemporary and Victorian design element. According to Ian Macleod Distillers, this will give it premium standout on shelf and encourage trial and sales.

Wincarnis 1887 is said to have a rich and smooth taste, with delicate citrus complemented by cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg, with a fresh and clean finish leaving a moreish, spicy intensity.

Ian Macleod Distillers Travel Retail Director Andy Lane said: “This is an exciting development for the Wincarnis brand as it targets a younger audience with the launch of the new 1887 liqueur.

“The brand has been developed with the support of DFS and we are looking forward to continuing success with them as we increase sales.”

Wincarnis 1887 is available exclusively through DFS Singapore for six months at a retail price of S$59.00 (US$46.28).
