SPAIN. Spanish designer Custo Dalmau has launched the brand’s first fragrance, Custo Barcelona, in Spain.
As reported, the new fragrance for women is created by Idesa Parfums, a perfumery and cosmetics company based in Barcelona, and is available in Spain, Italy, Germany and Austria. The international roll-out will start in the beginning of 2009.
The scent, developed by perfumer Alberto Morillas, is described as “˜appetising and innovative’.
The juice is a fruity floral cypress with top notes of bitter orange, Calabrian lemon, pink grapefruit and bergamot. Middle notes feature wild strawberries, black currant, white peony and orange blossom, revealing base notes of lemon tree wood, amber and musk.

The bottle and packaging are jointly designed by National Design Award winners Pati Núñez and Toni Arola.
The flacon takes the shape of a combination of a circle and a rectangle and is made of ombré-dyed glass that graduates from transparent to a deep magenta. A panel of fabric with a texture described as “˜between granite and glitter’ is embedded in the middle of the bottle with the brand name chiselled below.
The top of the flacon features a rectangular metal piece which falls vertically over the front of the bottle “˜like an accent mark’.
The outer carton is square-shaped and reflects the colours and materials used in making the flacon.
Idesa Parfums is exhibiting at the TFWA World Exhibition this year (Stand number: GO5 – GO7 Golden Village).
