Images of the Day: Duty Free Americas leads on colourful blend of spirits and beauty at Miami Airport

Our regular feature, brought to you in association with Strange Nature Gin from New Zealand, celebrates memorable scenes, moments, launches and campaigns related to the global aviation and travel retail sphere.

USA. Today’s choice of images comes from Duty Free Americas (DFA) stores at Miami International Airport, as The Moodie Davitt Report President Dermot Davitt travels back to Europe from this week’s Summit of the Americas in nearby West Palm Beach.

The DFA Concourse D and E stores lead on a blend of beauty and spirits, with some eye-catching campaigns and in-store promotions.

Coming through security close to E gates lies a well-rounded fragrances & cosmetics offer, supported by eye-catching digital campaigns and in-store signage.

Close to D gates, the central store features P&C prominently alongside a rich range of spirits led by American whiskey, prestige Scotch, premium tequila (with the breadth of offer evidence of that category’s continued rise at the luxury end) plus a limited but high-class wine portfolio. Campari captures the eye of passing travellers with a colourful gondola, while Tito’s stands tall as the US vodka market leader with its in-store branding.

Out on the concourse meanwhile, Bacardi has placed Patrón tequila front and centre with a racy display linked to the upcoming Miami Formula One Grand Prix on 5 May, including sampling from the team of friendly ambassadors.

The busy Florida airport served 52.3 million travellers in 2023, which represented a +3.2% increase year-on-year. ✈
