INDIA. “To see Misaka on shelf in Delhi Duty Free is truly humbling.”

As reported, Hong Kong-based Global Drinks – a much-respected brand agency and supply chain provider – recently launched its own brand, global travel retail-exclusive premium Japanese whisky Misaka.
Soon afterwards, Global Drinks struck a distribution partnership with newly created Delhi-based Platinum Liquids to develop Misaka within the India and Middle East region.

Delhi-based Platinum Liquids was founded by travel retail and drinks industry veteran Gaurav Joshi, until recently Asia Pacific Director at Bacardi Global Travel Retail.

As a result of the alliance, Misaka has been listed by Delhi Duty Free. In turn, Kartasis recently visited the travel retailer to lead four days of intensive staff training alongside Joshi.
Delhi Duty Free Head of Buying & Supply Chain Vishwanath Iyer commented: “We are excited to launch Misaka Whisky at Delhi Duty Free. The growing popularity of Japanese whisky in India is a clear indication of the evolving global taste preferences among Indian consumers.
“Misaka Whisky is known for its high quality and excellent craftsmanship. It reflects
the rich heritage and careful production techniques of Japanese whisky-making.”

Kartasis said: “Thank you to Delhi Duty Free in allowing me to train in excess of 100 people over 4 days on my Misaka whisky brand. India is truly incredible, it’s no coincidence this young vibrant nation is a global juggernaut with a vision and focus that is unsurpassed.

“Big thanks to Gaurav Joshi from Platinum Liquids, a great partner. Misaka is in safe hands, and a special thanks to Delhi Duty Free CEO Mr Ashish Chopra and his management team for allowing access to his Brand Ambassadors.” ✈
