UK. The World Duty Free retail area at Liverpool John Lennon Airport has been expanded and redesigned amid an ambitious airport development programme.
Dedicated MAC Cosmetics and Jo Malone areas have been introduced for the first time. A Traveller fashion store offering brands such as Superdry, The North Face and Calvin Klein also makes its debut.

The airport company said its aim was to improve the customer experience. Over £5 million (US$6.7 million) has been invested in the phased improvement programme. Development has been underway for the past 18 months and covers an area within the Departure Lounge of about 2,000sq m.
Several shops, bars and restaurants were opened last year and new retail brands were introduced.
Over 50 jobs have been created at the airport over the past 18 months following the introduction of the enhanced retail areas.

“These latest improvements have been completed just in time as we enter the busiest part of the year for the airport, with hundreds of thousands of passengers expected to pass through during the busy summer months,” said Liverpool John Lennon Airport Commercial Director Lucy O’Shaughnessy.
“Having listened carefully to our passengers, we now believe we have passenger facilities here at Liverpool which are up there with the best of any UK regional airport.”
