Imperial Tobacco celebrates 100 years of Gauloises Blondes

UK. Imperial Tobacco is marking the 100th anniversary of Gauloises by introducing a new centenary pack, exclusively available in gift boxes in travel retail.

Gauloises Blondes is being presented in a limited edition pack featuring a graphic design, which underlines its core values: freedom, non-conformism, creativity and “˜joie de vivre’.

This international brand, originating in France in 1910, is today present in 50 countries. The new pack is inspired by great Gauloises moments, creating a graphic link between the brand’s inception and the current 2010 interpretation, Imperial Tobacco said.

Blue and yellow colours are used, with the age of 100 inscribed as a filigree.

To celebrate its 100th anniversary this year, Gauloises Blondes is being presented in a travel retail exclusive pack featuring a graphic design, which underlines its core values of freedom, non-conformism, creativity and “˜joie de vivre’

To support the initiative, Imperial Tobacco is driving a strategic image advertising programme throughout 2010 in key airport locations, including Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, Vienna, Amsterdam, Zürich and Geneva.

The centenary pack introduction is one element in Imperial Tobacco’s focus on driving the international growth of its three most important global brands: Davidoff, Gauloises Blondes and West.

“Maintaining customer interest through brand innovation is key to driving sales,” said Imperial Tobacco Marketing Manager Global Duty Free Oliver Schramm. “The Gauloises Blondes centenary pack underlines the heritage and history of the brand as well as providing an exclusive item for travellers.”
