Imperial Tobacco has launched a new line in the Davidoff cigarette range, Davidoff iD. It is being introduced to the trade at TFWA Asia Pacific in Singapore.
“We are taking a major step in extending and expanding the leadership of Davidoff in the premium segment,” said Global Duty Free Brand Manager Gotje Rogall. “Davidoff iD is about discovering something new every day.”
The blend is said to be “a crafted masterpiece of taste and flavour”. Each item contains quality paper and colourful tipping adds a finishing touch, the brand owner said. iD also has a unique pack with innovative finishes, creative details and lively colours that contrast with its modern black or stylish ivory. “This will allow travellers to orientate in the duty free environment and essentially help to identify the brand within its category,” said Gotje Rogall.
When the pack is opened a range of different designs will appear. Behind each iD logo lies commissioned artwork from selected artists all over the world. Each design is said to bring the pack to life.
Davidoff iD is being rolled out as King Size in four varieties: Orange (Full Flavour), Blue (Lights), Ivory (Ultra) and White (1mg) with initial global duty free roll out this summer in Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, China and Ukraine. In addition, a special iD Touch Pack with an innovative opening mechanism is being introduced with a duty free launch into Spain.
“This is one of the most impactful global launches in the history of Imperial Tobacco, designed to extend Davidoff’s premium portfolio to a wider group,” continued Gotje Rogall. “Our worldwide launch is June – and it’s quite pertinent that we should choose to launch Davidoff iD here in Singapore, as travel retail/duty free continues to represent a most important category for the brand.”
