Welcome to In Crisis – Travel Retail Voices.
In our new podcast series we speak to travel retail executives around the world to see how they and their businesses are coping with the COVID-19 crisis.
This episode features the soft Scottish tones of Stewart Dryburgh, General Manager of Nestlé International Travel Retail. Stewart’s been around the travel retail industry for many years – he was one of the driving forces with Martin Moodie in creating the first Trinity Forum way back in 2003 – and is one of its most forward-thinking voices.
As reported, Nestlé International Travel Retail has pledged to help double total travel retail sales to US$10 billion in the next ten years (10 in 10), in partnership with retailers, airports and other brand owners. The strategy was revealed by Stewart at The Trinity Forum in Doha last year.
Now, in common with all his industry peers, Stewart is facing another challenge – the COVID-19 outbreak. Martin Moodie caught up with him yesterday in a village called St-Legier, on a mountain above Vevey, Switzerland.
