With great sadness we report the passing of Hani Gress, long-time General Manager at Abu Dhabi Duty Free and Al Ain Duty Free.
Hani gave great service to a travel retail operation that grew from small beginnings to become the second-most powerful duty free retailer in the Middle East.
He played a key management and support role to long-time Abu Dhabi Duty Free Managing Director Mohamed Mounib.
Long-time colleague and friend Mahmoud Omar paid a poignant and powerful tribute to Hani, which we produce below.
Hani is fondly remembered by The Moodie Davitt Report co-owners Martin Moodie and Dermot Davitt who both knew him over many years, both with this title and during our respective terms at Duty-Free News International.
