UK. Inflight point of sale specialist Initium Onboard is widening its offer to airlines to include anti-fraud software from its sister company Clue.
Since 1987 Clue has been providing investigative solutions for the criminal justice sector in the UK, and is today used by over half the police forces in England and Wales. Clue is also employed within Counter Terrorism Units and across a number of investigative disciplines such as major crime, drug enforcement, financial investigation, counter terrorism, serious organised crime, Isle of Man Constabulary and Jersey Customs and Immigration Service.
A version has now been created specifically targeted at airlines to assist not only with the investigation of inflight credit card fraud, but also internal problems such as cargo and container theft, duty free shrinkage and onboard sales cash discrepancies – major issues with some carriers.
Based on various available modules, Clue offers a flexible “˜end to end’ investigattion package from source information to full sets of case papers, providing an alternative to paper files, ad-hoc databases, spread-sheets and protracted methods of managing information. Clue provides all the facilities necessary to conduct an enquiry, however small or large, taking into account data security and integrity in an easy-to-use system.
The system is now available to airlines and will be introduced by Initium Onboard at Etihad’s 2nd Annual Airline Credit Card Fraud Conference on 3 November at the Yas Island Rotana in Abu Dhabi.
Initium Onboard’s Head of Retail Partnerships David Maddison is one of the speakers at the conference, which brings together decision-makers from airlines and service providers around the world with expertise on managing credit card risk and mitigating fraud in the airline industry.
Initium Onboard Sales and Marketing Director Dan Hayter said: “Airlines face many challenges today and theft – whether through inflight credit card fraud or cargo loss – is a major problem. As part of the BOM Group, Initium Onboard has been able to capitalise on the superb facility offered by our sister company Clue which has become a vital tool amongst police and security services within the UK for the past 25 years.
“We’ve now developed and further developed that software to provide airlines with a complete investigative toolkit which is easy to implement and straightforward to use.
“We’re delighted to be able to bring our offer to the table and discuss its potential within the airline sector at Etihad’s forthcoming conference and look forward to meeting our many colleagues there.”
