International Beverage to launch new-look packaging in Cannes

The Balblair 2000 will be released in 100cl for travel retail

INTERNATIONAL. International Beverage will officially relaunch its new-look Hankey Bannister brand of blended Scotch whiskies at the TFWA World Exhibition next month (Stand number: Marine Village S2).

The new packaging for Hankey Bannister Original and Hankey Bannister 12yo Regency is a combination of heritage and modernity. It balances an emphasis on the historic partnership of 18th century London wine merchants Beaumont Hankey and Hugh Bannister and a provenance which stretches back to 1757, and said to embody “a contemporary twist on traditional Britishness”.

Packaged in the trademark rectangular and shouldered bottle, the whisky is sold in over 50 countries and has picked up a stream of awards including the Monde Selection Grand Gold Award for Quality in 2009.

International Beverage will also launch the Balblair 2000 Vintage single malt whisky in 100cl packs, available for global travel retail.

Balblair 2000 Vintage is the new and youngest available expression from this Highland distillery, said to be the only malt distillery in Scotland that releases single malt vintages exclusively. Distilled in the Millennium year, this spirit is the latest handpicked choice of Inver House Distillers’ Master Blender Stuart Harvey and Balblair Distillery Manager John MacDonald.

Launched in 70cl in European domestic markets this month, it will be released in 100cl for travel retail from January 2011. Matured in American oak ex bourbon casks, Balblair 2000 Vintage is bottled, un-chillfiltered, at a strength of 43%abv.

International Beverage Global Travel Retail Manager James Bateman commented: “The TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes remains the single best event to display new products and new directions for historic brands for the travel retail market. We will continue to focus investment in the creation of innovative and international brands while preserving and managing the quality and tradition that makes them so special.”
