MALAYSIA. AirAsia has welcomed the month of Ramadan by unveiling its ‘Give With Ikhlas’ digital donation campaign. The initiative provides a secure and transparent digital platform for individuals and organisations looking to donate to charity during these challenging times. It was launched today (20 April) and will run until 22 May.
“Ramadan will be very different this year but the one thing that will not change is the spirit of giving” — Head of Ikhlas.com Ikhlas Kamarudin.
‘Give With Ikhlas’ was created in collaboration with charity organisation Yayasan Amanah Assofwah Almalikiyyah, which will use the funds to feed the less fortunate as well as families of front line workers battling the spread of COVID-19. The initiative is part of AirAsia Group’s wider CSR programme called #InThisTogether.
During the month of Ramadan, the ‘Give With Ikhlas’ campaign aims to provide over 5,000 families with basic necessities, deliver over 20,000 Iftar meals to COVID-19 front liners, and support over 100 SMEs.

“Ramadan will be very different this year but the one thing that will not change is the spirit of giving,” said Head of Ikhlas.com Ikhlas Kamarudin. “On that note, we are pleased to launch this project which provides an opportunity for everyone to come together and help those in need during an incredibly important time of the year. This project aims to be an aggregator or platform that gives donors a high level of comfort knowing that their voluntary donation (Ikhlas) will be used for their intended humanitarian purpose.”
Kamarudin added, “We aim to provide basic necessities to 5,000 families and Iftar meals to at least 20,000 individuals during the month of Ramadan. We will be purchasing supplies from at least 100 local SME merchants in order to support their livelihood and businesses in this challenging period. We know we cannot meet the scale of the challenge alone, hence we invite those who share our vision and passion to partner with us.”
