The experienced and much-respected Assa assumes the role on 1 July. He is currently Senior Vice President, General Manager, Estée Lauder, Travel Retail Worldwide.
In his new function, based in Switzerland, Assa will lead The Estée Lauder Companies’ three regional travel retail organisations and will report to Olivier Bottrie, President, Travel Retail Worldwide.
Sue Fox, Vice President, General Manager Travel Retail Europe, Middle East, Africa; Nathan Moris, Vice President, General Manager Travel Retail Americas; and Javier Simon, Senior Vice President, General Manager Travel Retail Asia Pacific will all report to Assa.
This new structure is designed to complement the company’s existing operations in Lachen, Switzerland, and enhance the organisation’s ability to service global and regional clients.
Bottrie said, “Israel’s relationships with retailers and airport management, combined with his deep understanding of the travel retail business and our brands, make him an ideal candidate for this key leadership appointment. I am looking forward to working with him in this new capacity”.
Assa joined The Estée Lauder Companies in New York in 2001 as Executive Director, Travel Retail Marketing and was subsequently appointed Vice President, General Manager, Travel Retail Americas in July 2006. He has held his current role since July 2014. A successor for that post will be announced later.
