Sunglasses supplier Maui Jim has launched Treble, a limited-edition frame which commemorates the brand’s partnership with Manchester United and the 20th anniversary of the English football club’s memorable treble success in 1999.
That year Manchester United won the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League, the first English team to achieve such a feat.
Treble launches globally this month (September) and will feature at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition, where Maui Jim is exhibiting (Green Village, M59).
The black Italian acetate frame has a collage on the interior to celebrate the winning matches and a gold-tone Manchester United crest on the right temple. Its unisex style is designed to suit a variety of face shapes and features Maui Jim’s SuperThin Glass Dual Mirror grey to silver lenses, which promise clear optics and optimal scratch resistance. MANUTD is etched on the left lens.

Treble is presented in a red and black collector’s box with metallic gold detailing. Included with each frame is a black folding carry case embossed with the Manchester United logo and a commemorative lens cleaning cloth.
Maui Jim announced its multi-year partnership with Manchester United earlier this year and the Treble frame is included in an exclusive eyewear collection.

Maui Jim said the collaboration with Manchester United gives the brand an opportunity to “further spread its Aloha Spirit to a global audience, while also communicating the importance of wearing high-quality, technically-advanced eyewear”.
