Jacques Farel puts the focus on booming Kids category

Coming soon: New Jacques Farel Kids girls’ watch and mini handbag sets will be introduced in 2011


HONG KONG. Jacques Farel Kids showcased its wide variety of children’s watches and accessories at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes last month, and received very positive feedback from international buyers, the company said.

A new Mini tin box packaging was successfully introduced during the show, giving airlines as smaller box option for gift sets or single watches. Also on show were teddy bear sets containing a teddy bear and watch, retailing at about $42.50.

Jacques Farel Kids Boys and Girls “Sunday to Monday” educational watch sets are targeted at the Holiday gift season. In addition, Jacques Farel Kids is going on a safari trip for Christmas with a new Interchangeable Jungle Set, featuring different jungle animal character watch straps. The product is now ready to order.

Coming soon in 2011 are new girls’ watch and handbag sets, set to be introduced in the New Year.

In terms of inflight listings, Jacques Farel Kids is available onboard Eva Air, China Airlines and Thai Airways.

Elliot Froidevaux told The Moodie Report during the Cannes show that the brand was doing particularly well with Nuance-Watson Asia at Hong Kong International Airport and was expanding its presence at the location. The company is also looking to develop its business in the Americas.

“In the last few years people have realised that children’s watch and accessories is a segment, and it’s growing,” Froidevaux said, adding that the entry retail price point for Jacques Farel Kids watches is about $27.50.
