ISRAEL. James Richardson today announced that it has been awarded one of the two Haifa port shop duty free concessions, recently put out for tender by the Haifa Port Authority. The Moodie Report understands that Sakal Bros was the other victor.
The terms are for five years with a two-year option.
The shop will service cruise passengers leaving Israel and merchant marine sailors visiting the port. Over 150,000 passengers sail from Haifa each year (including short term visitors sailing on visiting cruise ships).

Garry Stock: “Pleased to be able to offer the JR shopping experience to departing travellers” |
The shop will be between 300 and 350sq m and will open shortly to coincide with the cruise season in Israel. During the off-season, the shop will be refurbished.
“Until now, James Richardson operated a shop only servicing merchant marine sailors and is pleased to be able to offer the JR shopping experience to departing travellers as well,” said Chairman of James Richardson Duty Free Division Garry Stock.
