One stop service: Angeliebe will sell its products on the Tmall platform for the same prices as it does on its Japanese website |
CHINA/JAPAN. Angeliebe has opened a Chinese cross-border e-commerce store on the Tmall platform, becoming the first Japanese company to sell its products on Tmall for the same prices as in Japan.
Tmall is an e-commerce platform that enables companies outside China to enter the country’s booming online retail market. It is increasingly seen as a major challenger to travel retail, not just in Asia Pacific but also worldwide.
The arrival of the first Japanese price matching e-commerce store continues the growth of both Tmall and cross-border shopping in Japan. Laox, the Japanese duty free group, launched its overseas flagship store on Tmall in August last year.
‘Angeliebe Tmall Global Flagship Store’ has been delivered by Transcosmos, which handles e-commerce for Japanese products, and its affiliate Magic Panda, which sells apparel corporations’ products from Japan and various countries in the world in the Chinese e-commerce market.
Angeliebe is an online shopping company for maternity clothing, baby clothing, and baby gifts. The website and the sales promotions featured on the Tmall platform have been adapted for the Chinese market. The online store started sales on 1 March.
Angeliebe President Shinji Iwamoto said: “We have been able to launch the sales on Angeliebe Tmall Global Flagship Store with the support of Transcosmos and Magic Panda with this project. In China, 16 million infants are born annually. With China’s one child policy out of the way, even further market growth is expected, and Angeliebe’s further business expansion will be made with the support of Transcosmos and Magic Panda.”
