USA. Jersey Mike’s Subs is asking its customers to ‘eat a sub’ and support local charities through its Month of Giving campaign.
More than 1,360 Jersey Mike’s locations across the USA are joining forces with over 170 charities in March for the company’s 8th annual Month of Giving fundraiser. The campaign ends in a nationwide Day of Giving, on 28 March, when Jersey Mike’s owners and operators will donate all proceeds from sales to local charities.

Last year’s Month of Giving raised over US$5.5 million for local charities. Jersey Mike’s said this year it aims to break last year’s record-setting total.
Charities benefitting from funds raised include hospitals, youth organisations and food banks. Jersey Mike’s said restaurant owners select charities which support local neighbourhoods and help to build stronger communities. Last year’s charities included Hugz from Bugz, which aims to assist families dealing with childhood cancer.

Jersey Mike’s Founder and CEO Peter Cancro said: “I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100% of sales – every penny – will help support neighbourhood needs.”
Cancro started the company when he was 17-years-old, with a ‘giving…making a difference in someone’s life’ mission.
Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised over US$28 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 2 million free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
Earlier this month Jersey Mike’s Subs opened its first restaurant on a military base, at Schofield Barracks in Honolulu, Hawaii.
