Jet set chic returns with Pan Am travel bags – 22/08/07

US. To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Pan Am, the famous US airline’s brand licensee Machine Project Inc has re-issued a collection of 12 travel bags.

Each heavily branded bag depicts a particular point in the history of Pan Am, from the first Pan American Airways bags, to the iconic blue globe logo still used today.

The travel bag launch is joined by a retro logo T-shirt set.

The anniversary re-issues follow the successful limited-edition Pan-Am travel bags designed by Marc Jacobs, which have been available in Marc Jacobs domestic stores internationally since last year.

Machine Project Inc is also making available a higher price point luxury range which draws on the vintage poster artwork of Norman Rockwell, Peter Max and other iconic artists of the bygone era.

Founded in 1927, Pan Am ceased trading as an airline in 1991.
